Grace Alive Couples Study

Grace Alive Couples Study

Begins Monday, January 19th, at 6 pm (Church)

Meets Monday nights @ 6 pm at the main church.

The Art of Marriage is a transformative marriage Bible study designed to help you explore new levels of intimacy, communication, and connection with your spouse. Each video of this marriage Bible study traces a Greek or Hebrew word reflecting God’s character and illustrating His vision for healthier, more fulfilling relationships. Six half-hour sessions incorporate principles for unity and beauty in your real-life marriage.
Every marriage has its strengths and its stresses. There’s not one that can’t be improved, fine-tuned, made stronger—or even overhauled—if needed. In this six-session series, discover a transformative marriage resource designed to help you explore new levels of intimacy, communication, and connection with your spouse. Whether you’re a newlywed or have been married for decades, this series can be your path to a stronger, more beautiful masterpiece of God’s handiwork.
Featured couples in the study: Conway and Jada Edwards, Derwin and Vicki Gray, DA and Elicia Horton, Vivian Mabuni, David and Meg Robbins, JD and Veronica Greear, Jonathan (JP) Pokluda, Ron Deal, Dave and Ann Wilson, Dennis and Barbara Rainey, Crawford and Karen Loritts, Daniel and Christina Im, and Bob Lepine. Special contributors: Juli Slattery, Chris and Alisa Grace, and Tim and Noreen Muehlhoff.
 • Session 1 Hesed – Marriage is meant to be a reflection of God’s steadfast love. That steadfast love is not just something God does – it’s *who He is*. And as we live out a commitment to love our spouses, even in their weakness and imperfections, we bear the very image of God
 • Session 2 Dabaq – In marriage, God joins together husband and wife. That joining together includes hope and love, but it also includes baggage, and differing backgrounds and expectations. In the midst of these tensions and challenges, it takes great intentionality to move towards Oneness with God and one another rather than to drift towards Isolation.
 • Session 3 Agape – We all change. If love is merely a feeling whose object is changing, it cannot endure. The biblical vision of love goes beyond a feeling: It is a love that prioritizes the good of another, just like the love that God has shown us.
 • Session 4 Luo – Conflict within marriage is an inevitability. When we handle it poorly, or avoid it altogether, it can breed bitterness and contempt. But when we handle it with humility and forgive one another as God has forgiven us, conflict can actually lead us toward growth and Oneness.
 • Session 5 Yada – We often think intimacy within marriage should be automatic, but in reality there are any number of things that can stand in the way. As we grow in understanding our spouses and seeking their interests, we can develop deeper intimacy.
 • Session 6 Euangelion – The idea of being a marriage on a mission may be intimidating – like an extra assignment only intended for those at the top of the class. But the people around us need to see pictures of steadfast love, repentance, and forgiveness – pictures that are on display in our marriage
