Holy Smoke Off


Saturday, October 11th, 4-6 pm            Prairie City Town Square  

Come out and join us for a great event! All money raised goes to the Prairie City Ministerial Fund, which assist families who are in need throughout the communities of Prairie City and Monroe.  

If you love to smoke meat we are in need of smokers and competitors young and old. Please join in and have some fun competition while enjoying some great fellowship camaraderie. 

Here are the rules: 

  • 2 Competitions:                                        People’s Choice and Judges Pick
  • Be set-up at least 15 minutes before 4pm
  • Only requirement, item must be smoked
  • Have enough bite size items for at least 100 samples
  • Bring own table, drop cord  (if needed), own items to serve the cooked items out of

We have reserved Marias Tea Room along with a tour of Scholte House. Marias Tea Room: Enjoy coffee time in the “Old World.” While you enjoy a Dutch “Koffie Tijd” with items from Pella’s bakeries, meat markets, and chocolate maker.                         You’ll hear the story of Maria Scolte, her precious pieces of Delft, and how they ended up making a path from her old house to her new one. 

Reservation only, the cost is $20   per person.                                    (Please indicate if you have any   food allergies or restrictions)
